THE BEVERLY GROUP, INC. (TBG) has provided professional services on a national and regional basis since 1983. Its principals, Kevin J. Whelan and Beverly N. McFarland (now Senior Advisor), serve as court-appointed receivers, referees, chapter 11 trustees, plan administrators and liquidating agents. Services also include real estate and business asset management, fiduciary, consulting, and liquidation services. TBG’s portfolio of services over time includes assets with a combined value estimated to exceed $8 billion.
Federal and State Court Appointments have been successfully completed or are currently in process on a wide variety of asset types. They include businesses and real estate including, but not limited to, single and multi-family real estate, commercial and industrial projects, manufacturing facilities, fast-food franchises and other restaurants, radio stations, automobile dealerships, information and communications technology companies, an international toy company, an internal medical practice, the largest commercial marina at Lake Tahoe, recreational facilities, a B737-700/800 full-flight simulator and related components, a fixed-based airport facility, parking garages within a chapter 9 municipal bankruptcy, and a chapter 11/plan administrator appointment for a $200 million dollar Ponzi scheme case, to name a few.
TBG has shown the flexibility to effectively function in a number of different environments which may be attributed to nearly 80 years of combined business experience between its two principals. This included the successful operation of their own business nationwide for many years with fully staffed offices in Sacramento, Denver, and Tampa. As a former contractor to the FADA, FSLIC, FDIC, and the RTC, TBG managed hundreds of fiduciary assets in multiple states which included engaging over 400 subcontractors and numerous law firms to assist in litigation.
